Description
Person, who designs, analyses, assesses and applies professional techniques in the field of human resources, with a view to ensuring optimal performance.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
- She/ he advises and supports managers on the interpretation and application of collective agreements;
- She / he participates in the entire investigation process: information gathering, information analysis and decision making;
- She / he takes care of drafting disciplinary measures and ensures follow-up with managers;
- She / he participates in conflict management and supports managers in their interventions;
- She / he participates in labor relations committees and negotiates employer / union agreements, such as letters of agreement and grievance settlement;
- She/he provides advice concerning the improvement of labour relations team activities.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in administration, industrial relations, law or another university appropriate discipline;
- Member of Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines du Québec – CRHA (CRI, IRC, CIRC, CHRP) or a Canadian Law Society is an asset.
Experience:
- One (1) year of relevant experience in Labour Relations.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Good knowledge of MSSS legislation, regulations, the Ministry Network and programs, and current trends;
- Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership and teamwork skills;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and presentation;
- Knowledge of First Nation health/social service models, trends and issues is an asset;
- Knowledge of Cree culture, language, and social/health issues in Eeyou Istchee is an asset;
- Strong record in a similar type of planning, programming, research or evaluation environment;
- Excellent critical thinking, synthesis, planning and decision‑making skills;
- Good computer skills in MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Fluent in English and French;
- Fluency in Cree is an asset.
OTHER
- Available to travel on a regular basis;
- Possibility to telework.
